Key Lime Pie

My husband and I love Key Lime Pie. This recipe is very easy and tastes delicious!

1/2 C. fresh lime juice (5-6 limes)
4 teaspoons grated lime zest
4 egg yolks
1-14 oz. can sweetened condensed milk
1 graham cracker crust

First remove the lime zest from the whole lime or limes until you have 4 teaspoons. I did this my just using my cheese grater. Cut the limes in half and squeeze out the juice being careful to not include any seeds Whisk the egg yolks and lime zest together in a bowl until tinted light green. This takes about 2 minutes. Beat in milk, then juice and set aside at room temp till it thickens. You may want to add a drop of green food coloring if you want it to look more green. Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Pour mixture into crust, bake for 5 minutes until the center is set, but still wiggles when shaken. Remove from the oven and cool to room temp. Refrigerate for at least three hours until chilled. Serve with whipped cream topping and decorate with a lime wedge.

Blogiversary-Carmel Brownies

These brownies are one of our favorite treats. They are so yummy!
Give the recipe a try.

1 German chocolate cake mix
1/2 c. evaporated milk
1/3 c. evaporated milk
1 cube butter=1/2 cup (melted)
1 package Kraft Caramels
6 oz chocolate chips

Melt caramels and 1/2 c. evaporated milk slowly in microwave. Microwave for 30 seconds then stir. Continue doing this until caramels are melted. Mix cake mix, 1/3 c. evaporated milk, and butter together in mixing bowl. Put 1/2 of cake mixture into 9 x 13 glass dish. (press to cover out the bottom of the pan) Bake for 6-10 minutes at 350 degrees. Sprinkle chocolate chips on hot cake. Pour caramel over chocolate chips. Drop chunks of remaining cake mixture on caramel. Bake for 10-15 minutes at 350 degrees. Regular done-ness test will not work on these because of the caramel.

Note: I sometimes leave out the chocolate chips.

Burp Cloths

I saw these burp cloths On How Does She and knew I had to make some! They were super easy, considering I am not the most experienced at sewing! I love the bright colors...perfect for a summer baby! I just used Chenille on one side and then a patterned fabric for the other side. I cut my fabric 10X15. They are a great size.

I had fabric left over and whipped up a couple wipe cases to match! I am thinking about adding one to our Etsy shop! So if you want one let me know and I will post it just for you!

Baking Birthday Party

For my daughter's 7th birthday we celebrated with a
Baking Birthday Bash!

Here is her darling cake that was made by a friend.

I made these apron invitations.

We first made chef hats and I gave all the kids an apron to wear.
Here is the special apron that I made for my daughter.

The kids made pizzas to eat and then they decorated cupcakes, made pretzel hugs and cake pops. They each took a plate of treats home that they made.

The party favors were these cookie mixes with a cookie cutter.

Posergy Give Away

Posergy was founded by a Certified Aromatherapist, a
Naturopathic Doctor, a wife, mother of 8 & a grandmother.
Raising a family as natural as possible was important but often
a burden on her budget.

She began to find solutions to this high cost by creating her
own formulas.

With the help of family & friends, she decided to share her
knowledge and start a company that not only sold products as
close to nature as possible, but products that were affordable
to everyone.

The name chosen for the company was Posergy, which stands for
positive energy. All around us there is
negative energy, so it was her goal to create a company that was
a positive force for the environment, society, and mostly for
ourselves.

Aly and Ash-Stamped Little Birdie Shirt & Giveaway!

First of all thank so much to Sisters' Stuff for having me! My name is Jax and my blog is {Aly&Ash}! Make sure to head over there to see what Alish & Whitney are up to today! And while you're there check out the event we have coming up:

Click {HERE} for more info & hope to see you there!

Now onto the tutorial! I'm so excited to be sharing this neat shirt idea with you AND I'm even giving one away to a lucky Sisters' Stuff reader! Details at the end of the tutorial!

Step One:
Pour a very thin layer of fabric paint onto a plastic/paper plate large enough for your stamp.

Step Two:
Lightly press your stamp into the fabric paint. Be careful not to get too much paint on your stamp. You only want paint on the raised area, it should look something like this.

Step Three:
Stamp your shirt & allow to dry!

Step Four:
While the shirt(s) are drying. I cut out some little birdies to applique to my shirt. Follow the directions on your Wonder Under or other bonding paper and adhere birdies to your shirt.

Like the birdies I used? You can print or download the template from my sidebar at {Aly&Ash}! I made the stencil from a Photoshop brush I got at {Pixels and Ice Cream}! If you haven't already, be sure to check out their awesome site!

Step Five:
Apply a very thin bead of Fray Check to the edges of your appliques to prevent fraying.

Step Six:
Sew or hand stitch around the edge of the birds. I had stitched with embroidery floss at half thickness. Then touch up the beak and tail with a little more Fray Check if needed.

You're Done!

Here are some close-ups!

I'm giving these two as a "big sister, little sister" baby shower gift!

Now it's GIVEAWAY TIME!
If you'd like a custom one of these cute little numbers entering is simple!
Just become a follower of {Aly&Ash}
& leave a comment on this post with what you want!
(Size, 1-2 or 3 Birdies & floss color: blue, pink, green or yellow!)
Good Luck!
Winner will be chosen by Random Generator on Monday so Enter Now!!!
