Caramel Pretzel Rods

After trial and error I finally made one of my favorite treats! Caramel Pretzel Rods! Here is what I used.

-Rold Gold Honey Wheat Pretzel Twists(you could use any type of Pretzel you want)
-Kraft Caramels
-White Vanilla Coating(They are disc shaped. I found mine at a cooking specialty store. I tired white chocolate chips, but they would not melt for me)
-Milk Chocolate Coating
-Sprinkles

For melting the caramel I just followed the directions on the back of the bag of caramels for making caramel apples. Once my caramel was melted then I dipped the pretzels in the caramel half way and then put them on a greased piece of wax paper. Once the pretzels were cooled I melted my white chocolate for thirty seconds in the microwave and then checked it. I would also stir the chocolate after I checked it. I kept following this process until all the chocolate was melted. Then I dipped the caramel covered pretzels in the white chocolate and set them on a greased piece of wax paper. If you want to put sprinkles on your pretzel rods then do it right after you dip them in white chocolate. If you want to drizzle chocolate on them wait until the white chocolate has cooled before you do that! To drizzle your milk chocolate just dip a fork in your melted chocolate and then move it back and forth over the pretzel rods.

It is fun to add sprinkles for holidays. I did these for the 4th of July! They are an easy and cute treat to take someone.
