Dog Themed Birthday Party

We had a dog party for my son's 4th Birthday. It was a HUGE hit with all the kids. It was so much fun to do.

Here are the invitations. I made them in Photoshop.

When the kids got to the party, we painted their faces and they made dog ears, collars and tags.

The favorite part of the party was the ADOPT A PUPPY and the stations to visit with your new puppy.
Here each child got to pick a puppy to adopt and got an adoption certificate to go along with it.

One station was you PICTURE WITH YOUR PUP.

At the STYLE YOUR PUP station there were mirrors, combs and ribbons to help your puppy look its best.

At the PUPPY CHECK-UP station, you could use medical equipment to make sure your puppy was healthy.

Kids could enjoy a Puppy Snack and Drink at the FEED & WATER YOUR PUP station.

Dog Bone Sandwiches

Dog Bowl Cake and Doggie Cupcakes.

I served the cake and ice cream in dog bowls.
We played a couple of games. The first one was FIND YOUR BONE. Each child had a bone hidden in the yard with their name on it that they had to find.
The other game was DOGGIE SAYS. It was played like Simon Says but only with more commands that dogs would do. (ex. shake hands, roll over, etc.)

I had to get these gift bags when I saw them at the dollar store.

Doggie Bags for the guests to take home.

  2. I love, love, LOVE this idea!!! I just might have to put it to use for my sons third birthday (WAY off - not till July)! The adopt a puppy is such a great idea and really gives the kids a great favor to bring home (not just candy or throw away toys). The cake is adorable - I am into baking cakes, so that is right up my alley. Thank you for sharing. You'll have to check out my daughters 9th birthday (will be posted at the end of October) it is a cooking theme.
